DNR To Hold Briefing On Phosphorus Runoff

Madison – State Representative Ron Tusler (R-Harrison) announced that the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will hold a briefing on phosphorous runoff in the Brillion area next Monday.

“Wisconsin is truly a beautiful state. Our citizens and tourists enjoy our natural resources. Phosphorous runoff in the Manitowoc, Sheboygan, and Ahnapee watersheds is concerning,” said Rep. Tusler. “This meeting will provide information to people affected.  It can help us develop a plan on what can and should be done to prevent, and remediate damage.”

The DNR will provide information about the phosphorus runoff situation, the potential for the creation of a Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL), and answer questions.

Confirmed DNR presenters include:

  • Brian Weigel, Chief - Water Evaluation Section, Water Quality Bureau
  • Kevin Kirsch, Statewide TMDL Coordinator

Rep. Tusler will also be in attendance.
