First Responder of the Year Nominations.png

Do you know a first responder who has gone above and beyond their call to duty? Nominate them for First Responder of the Year! You can nominate someone for a variety of reasons including, but not limited to: a specific heroic action, a significant professional achievement, or their length of service.
The winner will be invited to Madison in October to participate in a Hometown Hero ceremony. First responders include law enforcement officers, fire fighters, and EMS personnel (paramedics, EMTs, volunteer first responders).
Please fill out the nomination form here and e-mail the completed form to Rep.Tusler@legs.wi.gov or mail to “Rep. Ron Tusler, P.O. Box 8953, Madison, WI 53708.”

 Cyberstalking Bill Receives Hearing

2019.08.22_AB 259 Cyberstalking Testimony.JPG

Yesterday, our Senator Andre Jacque (De Pere) and I testified on our bill to update our cyberstalking laws. Read my testimony here or watch it on WisconsinEye here (testimony begins at 2:47:00).

I am proud to partner with Senator Jacque again this session on bills that address the criminal justice system and community safety. Last month, our bill fighting child pornography was signed into law as 2019 Act 16.

As the summer comes to an end and we gear up for the fall legislative work period, I will keep you informed on my priorities. You can see bills that I have authored and co-sponsored on my website any time.

 Adoption Task Force Update

Adoption TF Logo 2.jpg

This week, the Speaker's Task Force on Adoption held it's fifth hearing in Waukesha. We have held hearings around the state and heard from a variety of experts, most recently from members from the Court system and State Bar. Looking ahead, the Task Force will meet again on August 28th in Richland Center.  We will meet again in early September before assembling our legislative recommendations for the fall.

There is still time to share your stories! You can submit your experiences and comments here or email me and I can share with my colleagues.

If you would like to watch past hearings, click here.  Past hearing materials and written testimony is available on the Task Force's website here.
