Wisconsin Legislative Information
In Wisconsin, responsibility for redrawing legislative
and congressional district lines rests with the legislature. The
legislature is required to redraw legislative and congressional districts
every ten years based upon the results of the decennial federal census.
Despite changes in redistricting technology and
uncertainty about judicial standards, the purpose of redistricting and the
end result remain unchanged -- that is, the establishment of election
districts which provide representational equality for all potential
voters.
As the Wisconsin Legislature prepares for redistricting, this
site will aim to provide Legislators and other interested persons with information
related to redistricting in Wisconsin.
