Schultz in Montfort, Livingston and Lancaster on Friday, May 22
Madison…..Senator Dale Schultz will make several stops on Friday, May 22 in Montfort, Livingston and Lancaster to listen to community members about their issues and concerns. Dale welcomes community members to join him at stops during the day.
From 7:45 to 8:30 a.m., Dale will start the day at Montfort’s Windmill Mobil, at the intersection of Highways 18/80 and CR I. Windmill owners are Mike and Val Meister.
From 8:45 to 9:30, Schultz will be at Pinnacle Supply, 496 Willow Springs Rd. where owners Laronda and Ron Winkes manufacture renewable energy equipment.
In Livingston, from 10:00 to 11:00, Schultz will hold a community listening session at the Livingston Village Office, 220 W. Barber Ave. He will be joined by Village officials and Clerk-Treasurer Dawn Johnson.
In Lancaster, from 11:45 to 1:15 Schultz will hold an Economic Growth Forum over a dutch treat lunch at the Cedar House Café. Cedar House is owned by Kyle Vesperman located at 126 S. Madison Street on Lancaster’s square, phone 723-2503. Any community member is welcome to participate and share ideas on how the state can be a better partner to help grow the economy.
From 1:30 to 2:45, Schultz will be at the Grant County Law Enforcement Center, 1000 N. Adams St., at the intersection of Hwy 61 & City Limits Rd. There he will meet with Emergency Management Director Steve Braun to discuss the status of Bagley and other recovery from 2008 flooding and the impact of the pending state budget on county operations. Schultz will also meet with leaders in the Sheriff’s office about how the state can be a better partner to assist with community protection. Keith Govier is Grant County Sheriff and Jack Johnson is Chief Deputy.
From 3:00 to 5:00, Schultz will meet with representatives of TDS at its Lancaster office, 140 N. Monroe Street. They will cover fiber optic and copper wire technologies to deliver broadband internet service as part of the Universal Broadband for a Rural Region (UBER) initiative Schultz is working on with many partners. TDS representatives include Brian Gardner and Ken Klaas.
From 5:15 to 6:45, Schultz will be at the Lancaster Country Club on East Lincoln Ave to enjoy a fish fry dinner with community members. The Country Club manager is Darrin Miles, 723-4266.
From 7:00 to 8:00, Schultz will participate in the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Matthew Harper, in the Fellowship Hall of United Methodist Church, 216 S Monroe Street.
