LEGISLATURE HONORS U.S. ARMY STAFF SERGEANT AMY S. KRUEGER
Leibham and Kestell remember her remarkable service
and sacrifice to our nation
MADISON – Kiel native United States Army Staff Sergeant Amy S. Krueger was honored on January 26, 2010 in two ceremonies at the State Capitol in Madison according to State Senator Joe Leibham (R-Sheboygan) and State Representative Steve Kestell (R-Elkhart Lake).
The State Assembly and State Senate opened their session days with brief ceremonies commemorating the life and service of Staff Sergeant Krueger, who lost her life on November 5, 2009 due to injuries sustained during the terrorist attack at Fort Hood military post while she was preparing to deploy to Afghanistan. Staff Sergeant Krueger was 29 years of age.
“It was a privilege to recognize Staff Sergeant Amy Krueger at the State Capitol. Amy is a true public servant who willingly volunteered to serve our nation and protect our liberties,” said Senator Leibham. “Hopefully her patriotic spirit and ultimate sacrifice will inspire others to serve.”
Representative Kestell added, “Today we honored Amy Krueger by commemorating her remarkable, sparkling life as a deeply cherished daughter, sister and friend.”
Over thirty of Staff Sergeant Krueger’s family and friends were in attendance for both ceremonies, as well as several military personnel.
