Six Lazich Bills Earn Governor's Signature
Six transportation bills authored by State Senator Mary Lazich (R-New Berlin) were signed into law by Governor Scott Walker Wednesday. The bipartisan bills were part of the Fall Special Session.
“Governor Walker’s Back to Work Wisconsin Special Session Transportation bills culminate in an outstanding transformation for job creators relying on Wisconsin transportation infrastructure to do their business,” said Senator Lazich said. “From aligning Wisconsin transportation laws with the laws of neighboring states, to assisting the agriculture industry taking advantage of technology to move products, to enhancing the movement of more goods at less cost, Wisconsin is truly Open for Business.”
Senate Bill 222 and 223 allow trucks with six axles to transport up to 90,000 pounds.
Assembly Bill 252 allows Wisconsin’s agriculture industry to transport crops for a longer period of time during harvest.
Assembly Bill 253 makes it easier for Wisconsin shippers to transport large poles and pipes.
Assembly Bill 254 allows vehicles up to 45 feet in length to travel on Wisconsin roads without obtaining a permit.
Assembly Bill 267 makes it easier to transport three-vehicle combinations on Wisconsin roadways.
