  UW Spooner
On Monday, December 14, Senator Jauch and Representative Hubler visited the UW Spooner Agricultural Research Station to present a citation celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the facility. The Ag Research Station was created in December, 1909 when the City of Spooner donated 80 acres of land to the University of Wisconsin. Over the past century, the Ag Station has cultivated quality and diversified crop research focusing on plant population, weed control, irrigation management and insect and disease control. They pioneered research that resulted in the development of the first early double hybrid corn crops and fast grown hybrid poplar trees. In 1936 the Spooner Ag Station began it's sheep project which has since grown into the leading source of information for dairy sheep in the nation. The UW Spooner Agricultural Research Center continues to be a state and nationwide leader in agricultural research and has contributed significantly to communities in northern Wisconsin.

Representative Sherman, Governor Doyle, and Senator Jauch listen to Executive Director Reba Rice at the grand opening ceremony.
On August 25, Governor Doyle, Department of Health Services Secretary Karen Timberlake, Senator Jauch, and Representative Sherman helped celebrate the grand opening of The Lakes Community Health Center's new dental clinic in Ashland. More than 95% of the clinic's patients are Medicaid patients. The new TLC Dental Clinic is located at 719 E Main Street in Ashland.
Dr. Tina Dahlke, who moved to Ashland to work as the dentist at the TLC Clinic, speaks with Senator Jauch and Secretary Timberlake.

On August 15, Senator Jauch took part in the Second Annual State Wide Fish Farm Day which raised awareness for and promoted aquaculture in Wisconsin. Senator Jauch visited an open house at the Northern Aquaculture Demonstration Facility in Red Cliff, Wisconsin which operates as a farmer-oriented research and demonstration facility. Pictured with Senator Jauch are: Greg Fischer - Fisheries Director, Kendall Holmes - Aquaculture Technician, Ron Johnson - Aquaculture Specialist, and Bryan Rehwinkle - NADF Intern.
