Base Camp
Friends, family and loved ones, The sun peaked from behind Everest way too early this morning, however we were happy to be driven from our tents by its warming rays. Our current focus is on acclimatizing to our new elevation and to this end we took a gentle walk around Base Camp to meet our neighbors. There is a real international crew here, everybody from the harden solo mountaineers to the Croatian women's national climbing team. Back at our new home there was a buzz of activity as we put the finishing touches on the camp. Power system is up and running, VHF radios are on line, Kitchen oven is installed and plumbing for our shower is complete. And to top it all off, members that had stayed back in Loboche to get well joined us this afternon. Now we are once again one big happy family. We have begun working on our technical training that will be so we will be ready for our first foray into the Khumbu icefall after our upcoming Puja ceremony.
