Family Care Audit Approved
The Joint Legislative Audit Committee has recently approved an audit of the Family Care Program, which provides long-term care services to individuals with physical and developmental disabilities and the elderly in 55 of the state’s 72 counties. Family Care has a budget of nearly $1 billion with funding provided by a mix of federal and state tax dollars. The scope of the audit is wide-ranging and covers topics including participation levels, administrative costs, care quality, and cost comparison with alternative care delivery methods.
