Work on the Wisconsin approach of the St. Croix River Crossing will begin in the coming weeks. Here is the timeline for the first phase of the Wisconsin approach, which is estimated to take about six months:
· Within the next couple of weeks, crews will begin mobilizing equipment to the area.
· Crews will begin clearing and grubbing on the west side of WIS 35 during the week of March 10th.
· During the week of March 17th, WIS 35 will close to traffic, and the detour will go into effect. WIS 35 is planned to re-open to traffic on July 3rd.
The first phase will also include the construction of the new WIS 64 roadway between the St. Croix River and County E. Due to the short timeframe allowed to build the WIS 35 overpass to keep the detour length at a minimum, crews will be working around the clock for about a month from Monday morning to Saturday morning.
