Tree and Shrub Seedlings Available Through DNR
In an ongoing effort to promote conservation, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will be taking orders for tree and shrub seedlings in October to encourage private landowners to plan for spring tree planting. Starting October 6th, the DNR will provide seedling order applications at all their offices and online. Each purchase must be between 300-500 trees or shrubs, and the seedlings purchased may only be used for conservation purposes. The seedlings will be delivered in early spring. This program is ideal for private land owners because it not only enables them to nurture wildlife habitats, but it also promotes conservation practices, all at an affordable price.
To place an order call Griffin State Nursery at 715-424-3700 or visit the DNR’s website http://dnr.wi.gov/ and search “tree planting.”
