The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) will be holding town hall meetings throughout the state on changes under the state budget in eligibility for BadgerCare Plus. The Governor signed these changes into law as part of the two-year budget bill on June 30th.
The time table for changes to BadgerCare Plus coincides with the implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act by the federal government. These changes will ensure health care coverage through BadgerCare Plus to all adults with income below the federal poverty level for the first time in state history.
The Department will hold three public hearings around the state next month.
For a list of times and places, visit the DHS website at http://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/News/PressReleases/2013/070113.htm
