Legislation I authored at the suggestion of a number of constituents was approved by the State Senate last week on a voice vote. Senate Bill 75 (SB 75) would increase the allowable length of certain three-vehicle combinations from 65 to 70 feet. Currently, some three-vehicle combinations for those seeking to camp or engage in recreational sports in our state exceed current length limits, limiting tourism opportunities.
Neighboring states of Minnesota and Iowa already allow three-vehicle combinations of 70 feet, while other western states and Canadian provinces allow such combinations. SB 75 would make it easier for individuals to travel between states and would have a positive impact on the tourism industry.
