As the warmest months of the year in July and August are here, many of us will be spending countless hours outside to enjoy the summer weather. While these days provide some of the best weather of the year, the sun can be damaging to your health if you do not take proper precautions.
To ensure healthy skin, the American Academy of Dermatology recommends applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen at least 15 minutes before going outside. This will help protect your skin against skin cancer and against premature aging.
In addition to your skin, the retina of your eye can be damaged by prolonged exposure to the sun. Protect your vision by wearing proper sunglasses while out and about.
