This week, May 18-24th, is National Safe Boating week. With the weather warming up after a long winter, people are looking to get out on the water and head out to our beautiful lakes and rivers. Now is the time for boaters to get up to date on their certification, which can be done online or in a classroom. It’s also time to inspect and equip your boat before you head out.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has helpful boating resources on their website, where you can register your boat, sign-up for a safety class, find a list of boat landings across the state and more. Brush up on proper boating practices before heading out to the lake or river and have a safe and enjoyable summer!
