The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) will be holding a public hearing to seek input on plans for a future designation and conversion of WIS 64 to a freeway and expressway between 150th Avenue and WIS 65 in St. Croix County. The proposal seeks to authorize the Department to officially designate WIS 64 as a freeway between 150th Ave and WIS 35 and as an expressway between WIS 35 and WIS 65. This planning process will allow the Department to replace WIS 64’s at-grade intersections with overpasses based upon traffic and safety needs with the completion of the new St. Croix River Crossing.
The public hearing will be held on Thursday, August 28th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Star Prairie Town Hall on 2118 Cook Drive, Somerset, WI. Those interested in learning more about DOT’s plans or providing comments or concerns are encouraged to attend. Written comments may be submitted to Jeffry Abboud at 718 W. Clairemont Ave., Eau Claire, WI, 54701 or by e-mail at email@example.com.
