Participating in Operation Deer Watch
The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) needs your help in participating in an ongoing annual effort to manage deer called Operation Deer Watch. The program enlists members of the public to report the number of deer they see between August 1st and September 30th. Participation in the survey is easy – during the assigned period, participants will keep track of all bucks, does and fawns they see using an online tally sheet. This year, about 14,000 randomly selected deer hunters received an invitation to participate in the program. Those who did not receive the invitation are still encouraged to submit their observations online. Operation Deer Watch is a great opportunity to contribute to the management of Wisconsin’s deer herd! For more information about participating in Operation Deer Watch, click here.
