New DNR Sticker Available for 2014
The 2014 annual Wisconsin state park admission stickers and state trail passes are now on sale through the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The stickers are available for $25 to Wisconsin residents and went on sale Dec. 1. The vehicle stickers are required for all motor vehicles wishing to gain access to more than 60 state parks, forests, and recreation areas throughout Wisconsin. A state trail pass is needed for all that plan to go biking, in-line skating, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, or off-highway motorcycling on a state trail and are age 16 or older. To purchase a park admission sticker or a state trail pass, you can visit park offices, DNR service centers, or call the DNR at 888-936-7463. The Friends of Wisconsin State Parks also offers online sales of admission stickers and trail passes with a donation to the statewide friends group through the organization’s website.
The 2014 sticker was designed by Ursula Reid, a junior at Cedarburg High School. Her design was selected from 220 entries by high school students around the state. Entries for the 2015 Wisconsin state park sticker design contest are now being accepted through April 17, 2014. The contest is only open to high school students in public, private, or parochial schools. For contest rules and information, visit the DNR website by clicking here.
