National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day
The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) reports that more Americans abuse prescription drugs than those who use cocaine, heroin, hallucinogens, and inhalants combined. Many people become addicted to illegal drugs due to the availability of legal drugs, such as prescription medications. In an effort to help address substance abuse and prescription drug misuse, DOJ encourages Wisconsinites to participate in National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on April 26th, during which you may drop off your unused or expired prescription drugs. There will be various collection sites across the state from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. To find the collection site nearest you, please click here.
