As part of the continuing St. Croix Crossing project, Minnesota Hwy 95 will be closed August 9th – 12th. Crews will demolish the Minnesota Hwy 36 flyover bridge to northbound Hwy 95, resulting in the weekend closure.
A detour route in Stillwater and Oak Park Heights will use Hwy 36, Osgood Avenue, 47th Street N., Stagecoach Trail, and Fifth Avenue N. Motorists will continue to experience single-lane traffic on Hwy 36 east of Osgood Avenue and temporary traffic signals at the junction with Hwy 95. Drivers are reminded to remain patient and follow the signed detour route when the closure occurs.
Also, on the Wisconsin side, those traveling on Hwy 35 north of Hudson will continue to see heavier truck traffic entering and exiting the site of the former wayside in the town of St. Joseph. For the next few weeks there will be shoulder closures to accommodate the increased traffic as trucks are hauling material from the St. Croix River bottom as the bridge foundations are being constructed.
