I am deeply saddened by the tragic killing of U.S. Marine Sergeant Carson Holmquist yesterday by a terrorist in Chattanooga, Tennessee. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, Jasmine, his son, and his family, friends and fellow soldiers. Carson grew up in Grantsburg and valiantly served our country as a Marine, including protecting our nation by fighting overseas during a tour last year.
We mourn the loss of Holmquist and the three other Marines who lost their lives in the senseless and tragic shooting and extend our heartfelt sympathy to each of their families. Yesterday’s heartbreaking tragedy ended the lives of four brave and accomplished young servicemen. We are deeply grateful for their service to our nation and pray for healing for their loved ones.
