Happy Thanksgiving!
Our country has been celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday officially since 1863 when President Abraham Lincoln, during the Civil War, proclaimed a national day of “Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens.”  About 250 years earlier and long before Thanksgiving became an official Federal holiday, it is recorded that Pilgrims celebrated and feasted with Native Americans to give thanks for their first harvest upon arriving in Plymouth.
Today, Thanksgiving is still a special time of the year to take a moment to reflect on all we have to be thankful for and to count our many blessings as we spend time with family and friends.  Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
