Governor Walker recently announced $250,000 in grants to 24 Wisconsin School Districts to support financial literacy. The grant recipients were selected by the Governor’s Council on Financial Literacy from more than 50 applicants from across the state. The program is open to Wisconsin’s K-12 public and private schools and is intended to aid teachers and school districts in beginning new sustainable financial literacy events and programs for students. Wisconsin is the first state in the nation to develop content and performance standards that define what a student should know about financial literacy. School districts in our area that were awarded grants include Luck, Clear Lake, Glenwood City, St. Croix Central, Elmwood, Boyceville, St. Croix Falls, and Unity School Districts.
