The members of the Transportation Projects Commission (TPC) approved an environmental study for the six-mile segment of I-94 between US 12 and WIS 65 in St. Croix County. Approving this study is a necessary and crucial step forward in addressing safety and mobility concerns. Currently the Average Annual Daily Traffic volume along this corridor is 49,000 and is expected to grow to 71,000 by 2030.
This segment of I-94 provides interstate access for Hudson and Roberts and is also an important route for freight transportation for the state and region. The crash rate here is above the statewide average at 31 crashes annually.
