Wisconsin’s Green Tier is an innovative environmental program that takes a cooperative approach to our state’s regulatory climate to enhance environmental performance and lower costs for job providers. Green Tier is a voluntary program for businesses that recognizes and rewards environmental performance. This program provides an opportunity for Wisconsin businesses to gain regulatory flexibility while encouraging exceptional environmental practices. Green Tier is helping businesses make not only a difference environmentally, but it is also helping make a difference in their bottom line.
Participation in the Green Tier Program is growing, including several businesses in our area. The DNR announced this week that Phillips Medisize’s Design and Development Center in Hudson is the latest firm in western Wisconsin to apply to this program. If approved, the Design and Development Center would join other Phillips facilities in New Richmond and Menomonie that are already certified under Green Tier.
Other area businesses participating include Bosch Packaging, Donaldson Company, Federal Foam Technologies, and the Wisconsin Industrial Sand Company.
