Cookie Bill Approved by Senate
Earlier this week, the State Senate unanimously approved Senate Bill 435 (SB 435), commonly referred to as the “Cookie Bill.” This legislation seeks to encourage homegrown businesses that sell home-baked goods by allowing home bakers to sell certain baked goods without requiring a food processing license from the state. SB 435 also builds upon legislation previously passed for home canners, known as the “Pickle Bill,” to increase the allowable sales limit for home-canned goods. This legislation now awaits consideration by the full State Assembly. For additional information on this bill, please click here.
