The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has made the plans for a new interchange and bridge on County T over I-94 available for public viewing. The plans will be posted at the St. Croix County Highway Department in Hammond from July 25 through August 8.
The project consists of replacing aging and deficient infrastructure to improve safety of the existing interchange. Current plans include a new bridge span over I-94, roundabouts at the ramp intersections on County T, and lengthened ramps to provide proper acceleration and deceleration for entering and exiting I-94 traffic. Also included in the project are right of way improvements, accommodations for current and future bicycle and pedestrian traffic, and a new park and ride facility. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2016.
A public hearing may be requested by individuals to whom the proposed project is of significant concern. The public is encouraged to review the plans and provide input by August 9 so the comments can be incorporated in the proposed plans.
