The burning restrictions for Northwest Wisconsin have ended effective at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday May 24, 2012. Portions of Burnett, Douglas, Polk and Washburn Counties were affected by these restrictions. Due to significant precipitation, oak trees have leafed-out and conifers have pollinated, indicating that green-up has occurred. Residents impacted by the wind storm should continue to be mindful of fire danger, burning permits and alternatives to burning. You can access additional information by visiting http://dnr.wi.gov and entering the keywords “storm” or “fire.” Thank you to everyone for complying with these restrictions.
