Burning Restrictions Lifted for Northwest Wisconsin
The burning restrictions for Northwest Wisconsin have ended effective at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday May 24, 2012.  Portions of Burnett, Douglas, Polk and Washburn Counties were affected by these restrictions.  Due to significant precipitation, oak trees have leafed-out and conifers have pollinated, indicating that green-up has occurred.  Residents impacted by the wind storm should continue to be mindful of fire danger, burning permits and alternatives to burning.  You can access additional information by visiting and entering the keywords “storm” or “fire.”   Thank you to everyone for complying with these restrictions.
