The Department of Natural Resources recently launched two new public service announcements directed toward anglers and boaters on what they can do to help avoid spreading aquatic invasive species. Invasive species can harm the ecosystems and thus negatively impact the fisheries and water quality in our lakes.
The two announcements remind water users to:
· Inspect boats, trailers and equipment
· Remove all attached aquatic plants and animals
· Drain all water from boats, vehicles and equipment and
· Never move plants or live fish away from a water body, with the exception of bait minnows.
