The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has announced the new Atlas of Public Access Lands is now available both online and in a printable format. This is a great resource for those who enjoy the great outdoors and are looking for land that is available for hunting, fishing, trapping, hiking and other outdoor activities.
The land highlighted in the new atlas is made possible through the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program. The Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program, created by the Legislature in 1989, has been widely supported since land purchased through the program ensures public access to hunting, fishing, and other outdoor recreational opportunities. The new atlas contains 441 maps, two indexes, a glossary, and contact information to land managers, who are available to answer questions about the properties.
