1.1 Million Private Acres Open to the Public
The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has developed a mapping application that can be used to help find privately owned land that is open to the public for specific recreational activities.  The DNR’s application includes over one million acres of private land that is open to the public as a result of landowner incentive programs, such as the Managed Forest Law and the Forest Crop Law that promote sustainable forest practices.
To access the mapping tool visit the DNR web site at, and type “MFL open land” in the Search or Keywords field.
