$108.7 Million Added to the State's Rainy Day Fund
Earlier this week the Wisconsin Department of Administration announced the deposit of $108.7 million into the state’s rainy day fund as part of its annual fiscal report. This is the largest deposit in state history, as well as the first time the state has contributed to the fund two years in a row. Wisconsin finished the 2012 fiscal year with a positive balance of $342.1 million. Over 75% of state tax collections are provided as aid to school districts, local governments, and individuals.
