Legislative Citation

In some circumstances the legislature can issue a formal citation to commend someone who has gone above and beyond in service to their community or achieved important milestones in their lives. This link provides information needed to request a citation through my office.

One of my great privileges as a state senator is to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of those in our community by presenting them with a Legislative Citation. Anyone may request a citation for outstanding accomplishments, retirements and milestone wedding anniversaries and birthdays. You may also request a citation for a winning team, a top scouting award and outstanding community service.

Please be sure to include:

  • Name of the person receiving the citation with correct spelling;
  • Contact person and phone number where he/she can be reached;
  • Event and date of event;
  • Background information that would be helpful in capturing all the wonderful activities of this person. Be sure to include any community service or volunteer groups and/or public offices in which the person has participated.

Send requests to:
Senator Sheila Harsdorf
P.O. Box 7882
Madison, WI 53707-7882

Or email the information to me

Case work

I will be more than happy to help you if you are having a problem with state agencies or local government or need help resolving any other issue. Many times these correspondences inform my actions in the legislature and can even become the driving force behind new legislative proposals.

Capitol Tours

RotundaMadison, Wisconsin is home to the most beautiful and scenic state Capitol in the nation. Started in 1906 and completed in 1917, the Wisconsin State Capitol is located on an isthmus between lakes Mendota and Monona, and stands just a few feet shorter than the Federal Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. Each year over five hundred thousand people, including school groups, vacationers, federal legislators, architectural scholars and even foreign heads of state visit our state capitol.

In addition to housing both the Wisconsin State Senate and Assembly, the Capitol is home to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, the Offices of the Governor and Attorney General and other supporting agencies and staff.
