Prevailing Wage Repeal not Dead

We Need Your Voice!

Recently, I have received an outpouring of constituent support for the full repeal of prevailing wage. The full repeal of prevailing wage is not dead.

Full repeal has been one of my first priorities. Watch my interview with the MacIver Institute here.

I have been meeting with legislators in the Senate and the Assembly to impress on them the importance of full repeal.

Beyond the nearly $300 million in savings state wide, the full repeal of prevailing wage will allow small contractors to compete for tax funded projects. Our tax dollars need to be spent efficiently and effectively.

A natural next step is for the Assembly to hold a public hearing on the bill.

Please continue to contact our legislative leaders to let them know the full repeal of prevailing wage is long over due. Tell others how important this legislation is for Wisconsin.

As a Senator, my job is to protect and stand up for the taxpayers. Eliminating the prevailing wage is the right thing to do.

School Choice Tour

Finance Committee Approves Expansion

Recently, I toured four Milwaukee Parental School Choice campuses: St. Marcus, Nativity Jesuit, Notre Dame, and First Immanuel Cedarburg. Next week, I will tour two more schools in Wauwatosa.

The need for great schools is essential for Wisconsin's long term economic prosperity. Our next generation is very important to me.

As a state, we need to give parents more choice on where to send their children. I am encouraged by the Joint Finance Committee's commitment to expanding school choice.

There will be no caps on the number of students or schools in the program. The newly expanded program will work similarly to Wisconsin's current public open enrollment law meaning the expansion is adequately funded.

Finally, every parent will have the choice to send their kids to a school right for the student.
