Senator Janis Ringhand Takes the Oath of Office

Newly Elected Senator Sworn In at State Capitol Ceremony

Janis Ringhand, newly-elected State Senator for the 15th District was given the oath of office in a ceremony held in the State Capitol Senate Chamber in Madison today.

“It is an honor to serve the people of south central Wisconsin,” Senator Ringhand said. “I look forwarded to working together with my Senate colleagues on important issues impacting the people of Wisconsin.”

For the 2015-16 legislative session, Senator Ringhand will serve on the Senate Committee on Economic Development and Commerce and the Senate Committee on Revenue, Financial Institutions and Rural Issue.

Senator Ringhand has also been appointed as the Senate Democratic member of the State Building Commission; the Wisconsin Women’s Council and the Council on Utility Public Benefits.

Prior to her election to the Senate, Ringhand served two terms in the State Assembly and is the former Mayor of Evansville where she also served on the city council and operated the family business.

Senator Ringhand will serve a four-year term office for the 15th Senate District which is comprised of most of Rock County and portions of Green, Dane, Jefferson and Walworth Counties in south central Wisconsin.
