Fitzgerald: Senate Continues to Lead on Labor Reforms
[Madison, WI] Today the Wisconsin Senate advanced Senate Bill 3, a proposal to reform state and local bidding processes by prohibiting the requirement of project labor agreements in order to be considered for or win the bid for a public works project.
Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald released the following statement:
“I am thrilled that the Senate has continued to lead on labor reforms in Wisconsin. From the passage of Right to Work to the repeal of the prevailing wage for local governments, we have taken great strides in encouraging open markets and removing government policies that artificially drive up costs. This measure removes one more barrier to competition and helps us guarantee that our taxpayer dollars are being used efficiently.”
The Senate also approved Senate Bill 10 with bipartisan support: the bill would allow possession of Cannabidiol (CBD) Oil without a prescription in Wisconsin with a written certification from a Wisconsin-licensed doctor that the CBD Oil is for treatment of a medical condition. Senate Bills 2 and 9 were also approved unanimously. All four proposals now head to the Assembly for consideration.
Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau) represent the 13th Senate District, which covers portions of Dodge, Jefferson, Waukesha, Washington, Dane, and Columbia counties.
