Wind turbine health impact on county agenda
MANITOWOC - State Rep. Andre Jacque will attend the Two Rivers City Council meeting Monday and host a listening session for his constituents to speak with him about state matters. City and county governments alike are getting in its last meetings before the Christmas holiday this week.
Here are the top five things happening in government:
- Listening session with state Rep. Andre Jacque: Jacque will be available to the public at Two Rivers City Hall in the council chambers for a listening session and to answer questions from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Immediately following the listening session, Jacque will give an update on state matters during the Two Rivers City Council meeting scheduled in the same room at 6 p.m.
- Two Rivers City Council: The council will meet Monday at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall. Updates will be given on the Lincoln Avenue project, the strategic planning process planned for the first quarter in 2017 and the St. Mark’s Square project.
- Manitowoc Common Council: The common council will meet Monday at 6:30 p.m.at City Hall to discuss resolutions for capital projects street improvements for 2017, city-wide sidewalk construction and repair program, and a resolution relative to train horns. An awards ceremony for the Lakeshore Holiday Parade is also on the agenda.
- Manitowoc Library Board: The board of trustees for the Manitowoc Public Library will meet Monday at 5 p.m. Items on the agenda include the vacant literacy coordinator position and the 2017 budget. The board will also discuss redistribution of 2016 Foundation bequest and allocation of unrestricted monetary donation.
- Manitowoc County Board: The county board of supervisors will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Council Room at University of Wisconsin-Manitowoc to discuss a resolution requesting the state to fund a study on the impact of wind turbines on human health. The board will also review petition from county municipals on road projects. Resolutions to approve the 2016-2017 collective bargaining agreement with the sheriff’s department employees and approving the sale of property at the Manitowoc County Expo Center Grounds are included on the agenda.
