Walker signs bill to change procedure for law enforcement dogs

GREEN BAY (WFRV) - Governor Scott Walker signed a bill in the Green Bay area on Friday aimed at changing procedures for law enforcement dogs if they bite someone.
The bill eliminates the requirement that a law enforcement dog that has bitten a person be examined by a vet and that the dog be confined.
It also requires the law enforcement agency to make the dog available for examination at any time and if the dog exhibits abnormal behavior, to notify the local health department.
Walker says its a benefit for law enforcement around the state.
19 other states already have a similar exemption written into law.
