Walker signs bill prohibiting adults from hosting underage drinking parties

(WLUK) -- Gov. Scott Walker has signed a bill that prohibits adults from allowing underage drinking on their property.
The Republican bill was authored by Rep. Andre Jacque of De Pere and Sen. Van Wanggaard of Racine.
The bill closes the "social host" loophole, which in the previous state law interpreted the word "premises" as liquor stores or bars and not homes and private properties.
By closing the "social host" loophole, it now holds the property owner responsible for underage drinking taking place on their property.
"The penalty would be the same as if you hold a licensed alcohol permit which would be $500 for first offense with escalators for subsequent offenses," Jacque explained.
Governor Walker signed seven other bills into law Friday, including making it illegal for adults to request sexually explicit photographs from children.
