The measure looks to make peeping toms pay a dear price for upskirting--snapping photos or filming under skirts without consent.
De Pere Republican André Jacque says it’s a matter of maintaining the expectation of privacy in a public setting especially given the 21st century technology prevalent on the streets.
“It really is just clarifying what a lot of people already have an expectation of under current law," said Jacque. "I do expect the bill will see final passage later this month."
The plan would increase the severity for the invasion of privacy to a felony punishable by up to three years in prison.
