Two Rivers cuts ribbon on harbor project
MANITOWOC - Despite a windy and wet morning, many government and business leaders, including Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch and State Rep. Andre Jacque, turned up to be a part of the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Harbor Park in Two Rivers Friday, Sept. 30.
“When I was speaking with the representatives of your utilities, right before we walked down those beautiful new stairs, I was saying this could have been a disaster," Kleefisch said. "And they said, ‘To us, it is less about what bad thing could have happened, what bad thing was prevented, and far more about the good things that will be born out of this project.’”
The ceremony was to celebrate the completion of the first phase in redeveloping Harbor Park, a $3.4 million effort that included replacing the seawall, dredging the harbor and replacing a water main that was from 1908.
