State Rep. André Jacque hoping to pass bill that prevents state unfunded mandates
(WTAQ) GREEN BAY - State Assemblyman André Jacque, R-De Pere, is hoping to pass legislation that would prevent future state unfunded mandates on local government.
Jacque says this is something everyone should care about because everybody is affected.
“Well, because ultimately, the cost of unfunded mandates shows up on our property tax bill,” Jacque said. “When unfunded mandates are passed, there is a cost to them, it’s just the higher level of government that’s avoiding to pay them.
He hopes to have it passed by the end of the session. That would be the spring of 2018.
