Jacque targets underage drinking hosts
A proposal would close what a lawmaker says is a loophole in underage drinking penalties.
Rep. Andre Jacque of De Pere says right now, it's illegal for adults over 21 to let minors drink "on premises" they own or control. The De Pere Republican says some have interpreted that to only cover places with liquor licenses.
Jacque says it's important to hold hosts of parties accountable, if they're letting underage people drink at their home.
Jacque says the state is involved in a "Parents Who Host Lose the Most" campaign every year, and lawmakers should follow that lead.
