Jacque: MADD report shows interlocks work
Mothers Against Drunk Driving learned that offenders in the state were blocked from starting their cars over 37,000 times over a one-year period.
Rep. Andre Jacque of De Pere is trying to put tougher rules in place for the devices. He wants to tie ignition interlocks to an offender's drivers license, instead of a specific vehicle.
He also hopes to increase the penalty, if someone is caught driving without the device.
Jacque says the report shows that interlocks help keep people from driving drunk.
