Wisconsin County Level Census Data

The block level census data presented here for each of Wisconsin's counties was extracted from the U.S. Census Bureau's "Census 2000 Redistricting Data (P.L. 94-171) Summary File" for the State of Wisconsin. Within each county, data is presented for each city, village, and town in alphabetical order.

"Blocks" used in this publication are the smallest individual geographic units identified by the U.S. Census Bureau and used in recording the result of the April 1, 2000, U.S. Census. These tables show the population count for each block which had population on April 1, 2000. To reduce the size of the files, blocks with no population on that date are not listed.

The data was printed in the Wisconsin Legislative Reference Bureau's "2000 Federal Census of Population: Wisconsin Block Level Data". Note that this document is over 1,000 pages long. The Acrobat files below for each county contain the same data for the named county.

Summary data at the county and municipal level is available in "2000 Federal Census of Population: County and Municipal Totals". The publication also contains the names and populations of municipalities split by county lines.

Some of the files are in Portable Document Format (pdf).
