Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath have raised serious questions about the role of government in emergency management at the federal, state, and local levels. Response to Hurricane Rita appears to have been swifter, but problems with the system are still apparent, and the devastation from both storms has taken a toll on the entire nation. While Congress re-examines the federal emergency management infrastructure, local and state governments throughout the country are taking a closer look at their own emergency management policies. This bibliography presents resources on emergency management policy in Wisconsin and at the federal level.
