TRANEL SPEAKS AT WISCONSIN’S
83rd STATE FFA CONVENTION
Representative Travis Tranel of Cuba City spoke Monday evening, June 11th to a crowd of 300 FFA members, advisors and guests at the Kick-Off Ceremony for the 83rd annual Wisconsin State FFA Convention. Representative Tranel’s message follows the 4th annual Wisconsin FFA Day of Service. FFA members volunteered their time in the Madison community to do their part in making our world a better place for all of us. Tranel’s background which is rooted in agriculture and service made him an excellent speaker for students at the convention.
"I am inspired and motivated after attending the State FFA Convention. The future of agriculture in Wisconsin and America is bright. The FFA is a group that teaches the values of leadership and service and I encourage more students to join their local FFA and I hope that local communities recognize the importance of supporting their local chapter,” said Tranel.
The State FFA Convention is hosted annually at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, WI. The convention attracts over 3,000 members, guests, and business partners each year. Over $1.4 Million in economic activity was generated during the 2010 convention. The best and brightest that Wisconsin FFA has to offer gather at the convention to compete, learn, and be recognized for their accomplishments in the field of agriculture.
The Wisconsin Association of FFA is a leading student organization due to the efforts of nearly 19,000 students across the state. With a focus on premier leadership, personal growth and career success, students’ FFA activities complement agricultural classroom instruction by giving them an opportunity to apply their skills and knowledge while gaining real-world experience. These activities are dependent on donor funding through the Wisconsin FFA Foundation.
