Madison-Yesterday, Circuit Court Judge David Flanagan permanently barred enforcement of the photo ID requirements of Wisconsin’s voter ID law.

Rep. Chris Taylor issued the following statement:

“The decision is a tremendous victory for Wisconsin voters.  Judge Flanagan’s ruling in conjunction with Judge Niess’s ruling virtually assures that the Republicans attempt to disenfranchise voters will not prevent people from exercising their constitution right to vote in the August 14 primary election and November 6 general election.

Two judges have ruled that the voter ID law is an unconstitutional attempt to disenfranchise voters.  Republican’s seem intent on putting unconstitutional obstructions in the path of law abiding citizen’s right to vote.

I am grateful we have an independent judiciary system to protect our constitutional rights that Republicans seem so intent on taking away.”
