Dear Friends and
It remains a
privilege and an honor representing the 40th Assembly District. As your voice in the Wisconsin State Assembly,
serving your needs remains my foremost concern.
this session, the legislature continued focusing on the business culture in Wisconsin,
making the state more competitive in attracting family sustaining jobs and
training a work force to fill those jobs.
Substantial initiatives were passed with 94% of the bills receiving
bi-partisan support in the Assembly.
balanced the 2 year budget, cut taxes on middle class families, and held the
line on property taxes while accruing $280 million in the state’s rainy day
fund. Wisconsin’s economy is recovering,
businesses are hiring, and more people are employed.
the state’s unemployment rate is 4.3%; lower even than the national figure at
4.9%. Wisconsin has one of the highest labor participation rates in the
country. At 67.8%, our state is more
than 5 points above the national average.
My votes on the
Assembly floor have never been based on newspaper rhetoric or on political
partisanship. Instead, they are cast on
the wording within the bill, and how that bill will affect the majority of
families, seniors, businesses, and taxpayers both in my district and throughout
I proudly represent the
heart of Wisconsin, and look forward to continuing our work together in making
Wisconsin the best state to live, work, raise a family, and retire.
