
Representative Louis J. Molepske Jr. was elected in a July 2003 special election. He has been re-elected since 2004 and is currently serving his fourth two-year term.
Born January 6, 1974, Representative Molepske was the second youngest legislator in Wisconsin's State Capitol at the time of his first election. A Stevens Point Area Senior High graduate, Molepske earned his Political Science degree with an emphasis in Journalism at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and subsequently obtained his Law Degree from Marquette University in 2001.
Before his election in 2003, Louis served as a Special Prosecutor for the Portage County District Attorney's Office and a City of Stevens Point Assistant City Attorney. he considers jobs and the economy, education, natural resources management and health care among his highest legislative priorities. Representative Molepske remains active in the community as a member of the Portage County Democratic Party and as a member of the Portage County Bar association. He hosts listening session and town hall meetings throughout the district and is a frequent attendee of community events. Representative Molepske also serves as an advisor on the nation's largest college natural resource board at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point and as a member of the Wisconsin Environmental Education Board.
